As the cosmetic requirements by the discerning patient have brought about a new era in restorative dentistry, dentists have recently experienced an increasing demand for elective esthetic procedures.

This presentation will focus on surgical enhancement of the emergence profile of restorations on natural teeth and implants by demonstration of various clinical cases advocating the establishment of an optimal framework of hard and soft tissues.

Esthetically-oriented procedures will be discussed including plastic and regenerative periodontal surgery in association with implant dentistry, orthodontics and esthetic restorative dentistry in a step-by-step format focusing on esthetic crown lengthening, root coverage, ridge augmentation and immediate implants in the esthetic zone.

Current possibilities for root coverage utilizing connective tissue and semi-lunar grafts.
Rationale for different approaches to crown lengthening in the esthetic zone.
